Prayer Times: Adhan & Qibla – Privacy Policy
Developer: JamsXtudio · Effective: 11 October 2026 · Package: com.jamsxtudio.prayer
1. Summary
Prayer Times: Adhan & Qibla shows prayer times, the Qibla direction, a tasbih counter and a monthly timetable. There are no accounts and we do not run our own servers. Prayer times, the Qibla and the Hijri date are calculated on your device. Your settings, chosen city and tasbih counts are stored only on your device.
2. Location
If you tap "Use my location", the app asks Android for your approximate location once, to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are. The app does not track you in the background. Your coordinates are stored only on your device and are never sent to us or to anyone else. The name of the nearest town is looked up in a list built into the app, without any network request. You can instead choose your city by hand, and you can withdraw the location permission at any time in your device settings.
3. Sensors
The Qibla compass reads your phone's orientation sensors while the Qibla screen is open. This data stays on your device and is not stored.
4. Prayer alerts
Adhan and prayer alerts are local notifications scheduled on your device using Android's alarm service. No server is involved.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers
- your IP address and the approximate location derived from it
- device information such as model, operating system and language
- ad interactions and diagnostic information
for showing and measuring ads and preventing fraud. The app does not give your device location to AdMob. Users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent on first launch and can change it any time under Settings → "Ad privacy choices". You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. See how Google uses information from apps.
6. Push notifications (OneSignal)
The app uses the push notification service of OneSignal, Inc. so that JamsXtudio can send occasional app news or seasonal messages (for example at the start of Ramadan). To deliver these, OneSignal processes a push token and a device ID it creates, the device model, operating system, language, time zone, IP address and app usage such as when the app was opened. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. See the OneSignal privacy policy.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
8. Data deletion
Everything the app stores is on your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, deletes it. For advertising data, see Google's controls linked above. To ask for deletion of the device information held by OneSignal, contact us below.
9. Accuracy and credits
Prayer times are astronomical calculations using the method you choose and may differ by a few minutes from your local mosque's timetable; please follow your local mosque where they differ. The adhan recording is "The Adhan – Muslim Call to Prayer – Aaqib Azeez" by Atcovi, from Wikimedia Commons, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0. Place names come from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).
